Challenge

Velvet Hour is a fictional late-night cocktail bar in Barcelona's El Born, created as a concept project. The brief: capture the mood of a dark, unhurried bar on a screen, and turn evening plans into a reserved seat.

Approach

Four decisions that shaped the site.

  1. 01A deep, low-lit palette of night green and brass, with an elegant serif, so the site feels like the room after sunset.
  2. 02Signature drinks first, each with its story and price, and what's on this week: live jazz, DJ sets and guest bartenders.
  3. 03Reserving is always one tap away, including straight from an event, and the practical details stay close: open now, hours, the nearest metro and night buses.
  4. 04Pages for drinks, events, private hire and reservations, in three languages: English, Spanish and Catalan.
