Challenge

Forno Nero is a fictional Neapolitan pizzeria in Barcelona's El Born, created as a concept project. The brief: make people hungry from the first screen, and take them from craving to a booked table in a few taps.

On every screen

The same site on a tablet and a phone, recorded live.

Approach

Four decisions that shaped the site.

  1. 01A warm, dark palette lit like the dining room at night, with the oven's ember orange kept for the one action that matters: reserve a table.
  2. 02Food first: large, close photography of the pizzas, and the story of the hand-built oven and the 48-hour dough.
  3. 03The practical details always in reach: whether it is open right now, opening hours, the address with directions, and the phone number.
  4. 04A full menu by course with dietary markers, a reservation form with date, time and guests, and three languages: English, Spanish and Catalan.
